Privacy and Security
Your privacy is a priority to us
Abington Bank recognizes, and always has recognized, the importance of maintaining the trust of our loyal customers. A big part of that trust is protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the personal information that you provide during the course of doing business with us. To help you better understand how your personal information is protected, we are providing you with the following statement describing our practices and policies with respect to the privacy of customer information.
Information we collect
As part of providing you with financial products or services, we collect private personal information. This information is supplied from:
- Information we receive from you on applications and other forms, such as when opening a deposit account or applying for a loan.
- Information about your financial transactions with us or others, to determine creditworthiness, or to protect against fraud.
- Information we receive from Consumer Reporting Services that collect data about your financial history
How we use this information
We do not disclose personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted or required by law.
However, some information sharing is critical to providing quality and convenient service to our customers. Such as:
- To provide you with the best financial services. To accomplish this, we frequently engage certain selected third-party providers with whom we have contracted under strict confidentiality agreements to assist us in our day-to-day operations. An example of this would be our data processor or ATM/Debit card issuer. We promise to hold these third parties to the same high confidentiality standards that we ourselves practice.
- To comply with law enforcement officials as permitted and/or required by law, such as when we are served with a subpoena or court order for such information.
- To manage risk and protect ourselves from fraud.
How we protect your information
Our commitment is to keep your financial information secure. To honor that commitment, we have established physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards. We restrict access to the personal and account information of our customers to those employees who need to know that information in the course of their job responsibilities. The Board of Directors, Management & Staff are committed to safeguarding customer information, and are trained to understand and comply with this privacy policy.
We will notify you annually of this policy. If your customer relationship with us ends, we will continue to honor your privacy.
